The Story behind tracks 1 and 2 started in 1998 with D. Meyer. We met in San Francisco, Ca while he was an on-air DJ for KMEL, and I had just got back from an interview with Playboy. I did not grace the pages of Playboy at that time due to personal reasons. But I did start to write and record with Mr. Meyer, which was a life changing experience, and I began to believe in myself, as well as my talent. Thank you Mr. Meyer XOXO ( 2002 )
Track 3: Before I met Mr. Meyer I was dabbling in house music as a guest vocalist and performed at various club locations from California to New York to Minneapolis. It was fate again when I met Jamal, and we collaborated on “Let your Love Fall”.
Tracks 4-7: During this time of my awakening; my forming into what I am now, I became very enlightened about all the changes of life and the paths we choose which will ultimately lead us in the right or wrong direction. I knew that I was on a path that would take me to greater and finer things because I was doing what I love to do. Within this time, I met a gentleman by the name of G. Young in LA who received one of the many promo packs I mailed out to management firms. He actually opened my package, liked what he heard, and shortly thereafter sent me to England to work with a gent who had a few hits. I flew to England and was driven to a beautiful town on the coast called Cornwall. I had one week to write, so I wrote day and night in a barn; which was converted into a vocal box. These songs have a lot to do with my intense desire to work with Prince, and with how I felt at the time being in Cornwall, just living life, having fun, feeling sexy, being in love, and being a mother. G. Young let me express myself and let me, be me. It was also the most magical studio experience I have ever had. (1998)
